Description
This is the lingular segment of the lung, showing extensive cylindrical bronchiectasis in the distal
two-thirds.
History
This man had a cough with purulent sputum for 5 years, dating back to the age of 12. In
this time he had had 2 attacks of pneumonia in the lingula, 1 in 1975 and 1 in 1976. X-rays showed
cystic changes and a bronchogram confirmed gross bronchiectasia.
